President Trump is Bringing Life Back to the United States Beautiful Clean Coal Industry

Yesterday, President Trump signed the Reinvigorating America’s Beautiful Clean Coal Industry and Amending Executive Order, which aims to cut through the red tape that has surrounded the coal industry for far too long. The order directs the Departments of Interior and Energy to implement policies supporting domestic coal production and preserve the current operation of critical coal-fired power plants.

Power The Future is proud to support this executive order,

“President Trump’s action not only helps rejuvenate our critical coal industry, it restores common sense energy policy at a time when Americans need power the most,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “Coal remains a foundational part of our energy infrastructure because it is affordable, abundant, and within our borders. Yet, it’s been unfairly maligned by extreme environmentalists who stay suspiciously quiet about China’s booming coal industry. President Trump knows it’s time to stop apologizing for American energy production and to start leading with it.”

The war on coal has made us weaker as a country, forcing premature retirements of coal-fired power plants that supply reliable baseload electricity. Meanwhile, coal production in China is up 8% over last year, totaling more than 765 million metric tons. In 2023, we warned what would happen if we kept down the path the Biden administration was forcing upon us, increasing our dependence on China. Thankfully, President Trump and his administration believe in American energy dominance.

Fox News reports,

“The value of untapped gold in our country is 100 times greater than the value of all the gold at Fort Knox, and we’re going to unleash it and make America rich and powerful again under this order,” Trump said Tuesday ahead of signing the order.

“Pound for pound, coal is the single most reliable, durable, secure and powerful form of energy,” Trump said. “It’s cheap, incredibly efficient, high density, and it’s almost indestructible. You could drop a bomb on it, and it’s going to be there for you to use the next day, which you can’t say with any other form of energy.”

This executive order will positively impact communities across the country that were overlooked by the Biden-Harris administration. In New Mexico, energy workers from the Navajo Nation were forced into an abrupt transition into poverty. President Trump listened and is bringing back the industry and American energy dominance.
