Biden’s Green Agenda Was Always a Scam
No one should be surprised that President Biden’s so-called “green revolution” has turned into a spectacular mess. From day one, the administration’s energy agenda was built on fantasy, virtue-signaling, and payoffs to well-connected activists (Stacey Abrams), not results. Now, after trillions of dollars in government spending and endless promises, the outcomes speak for themselves: higher energy costs, increased dependence on unreliable technology, and billions wasted. Our Green Fail, “ report from October 2024, touched on the Biden/Harris Administration’s widespread waste and fraud, but that only scratched the surface. As time goes on, even more green failures have come to light.
Green Scams:
Misallocation of Funds: Billions of dollars intended to support environmental justice and clean energy projects are being funneled into activist training programs that do little to address core environmental issues. Our Green Fail report highlights several grants, including $500,000 to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute for educating community activists to oppose offshore wind projects, and $425,000 to a Houston-based group for cultivating youth environmental advocates.
Lack of Oversight: The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Inspector General noted that despite receiving $41.5 billion in IRA funds, there is minimal oversight to track how these funds are being used. The absence of accountability measures has led to a significant portion of the funds being misdirected, with another $2 billion in grant funds set to be distributed without proper oversight.
Ineffectiveness of Climate Policies: Of more than 1,500 global climate policies reviewed in the report, only 63 have been shown to produce measurable results in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The majority of those “effective” policies involve raising energy taxes while many of the subsidized green energy projects, such as solar and wind, have failed to meet their intended targets.
The False Promise of Carbon Offsets: Our Green Fail report criticizes the reliance on carbon offsets, labeling them as ineffective and, in some cases, harmful. Projects funded by carbon offsets, such as reforestation efforts, have been marred by controversy, including human rights violations and failure to deliver on promised environmental benefits.
USPS EV Debacle: The Biden team promised a fleet of thousands of electric mail trucks. Instead, after more than two years and $1.7 billion spent, they’ve managed to deliver a pathetic 250 vehicles. The rest? Delays, excuses, and failure. Now, Republicans in Congress are trying to rescind the remaining $1.3 billion, money that should never have been allocated in the first place.
EV Infrastructure: The same story applies to electric vehicle charging stations. We were told that billions from the 2021 infrastructure law would create a nationwide network. But only seven charging stations had been completed by March 2024. Proving what many of us already knew: this agenda was never about results. It was about power, money, and rewarding political allies.
EV Bus bankruptcy: Multiple electric bus companies have gone belly-up, stranding taxpayers and school districts alike. Proterra, once the largest U.S. e-bus maker with nearly 40% of the market, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2023. Lion, a Canadian bus and truck maker that sold 3,400 buses in the U.S., also collapsed, leaving schools scrambling after new investors refused to honor warranties.
None of this is shocking. These are the consequences of an agenda driven by ideology, not practicality. The Biden administration only listened to the eco-left, and now we are left with empty pockets and a green grift that anyone paying attention could have seen coming.
