Power The Future Urges Trump Administration to Block EU Climate Overreach

The European Union is trying to export its radical climate agenda to the United States. Today, Power The Future announced its strong support for the Trump administration to act against two sweeping EU regulations: the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

PTF sent a formal letter to Secretary Lutnick, Vice President Vance, and Secretary Rubio, urging immediate action to prevent the EU from imposing its mandates on American companies. These directives may be written in bureaucratic language, but their impact is clear: they would cripple U.S. supply chains, slow production, and raise costs for workers and families. And they would do it without a single vote from the American people.

Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future, didn’t mince words.

“Vice President Vance and Secretary Rubio were right to criticize the EU for punishing companies that don’t censor speech — and this is the same dangerous strategy. Europe is now trying to control America’s energy policy from across the Atlantic, and that cannot be allowed,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. “Our letter makes it clear: these radical climate mandates would destroy jobs, weaken supply chains, and punish the very American workers who helped Europe through its energy crisis. America’s energy future belongs to American workers — not European bureaucrats.”

At the core of the issue is a straightforward truth: these directives would primarily impact American energy workers. Under CSDDD and CSRD, companies would be required to follow extensive European oversight throughout their entire supply chains. For energy producers, that results in delays, increased costs, and endless bureaucratic hurdles imposed by a foreign government.

Even more concerning, the EU is attempting to enforce these rules on American companies just because they operate worldwide. It’s an extraterritorial power grab cloaked in climate rhetoric — and it directly threatens President Trump’s goal of restoring American energy dominance.

Power The Future will continue to stand with the Trump administration and the workers who power our nation. Europe depends on American energy. So, the idea that the EU now wants to punish those same workers with new climate mandates is unacceptable.
