America Sets LNG Export Record in 2025. Energy Dominance Achieved.
While the Biden administration spent years slow-walking permits and pandering to radical environmental activists, the Trump energy agenda is delivering exactly what it promised: American energy dominance.
This record-breaking performance comes despite the Biden administration’s decision to pause approvals for new LNG export facilities, a move that froze future capacity, injected uncertainty into global markets, and handed leverage back to adversaries like Russia. The exports powering this banner year were enabled by projects approved before Biden’s pause and unleashed under President Trump’s pro-energy agenda.
According to Reuters, the United States shattered records in 2025, becoming the first country in the world to export more than 100 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas in a single year. Total U.S. LNG exports hit 111 million metric tons, accounting for roughly one-quarter of global supply.
This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because President Donald Trump reversed Biden-era hostility toward energy producers, supported infrastructure expansion, and let American companies build.
As Reuters reported:
“It is remarkable that in nine years the U.S. has gone from zero LNG exports to over 100 mmt… validating the reliability of U.S. supplies.”
That reliability matters. Europe remains the largest buyer of U.S. LNG as it continues to wean itself off Russian gas. Even Turkey bought more American LNG in December than all of Asia combined. That’s geopolitical strength Biden talked about but never delivered.
Under Joe Biden, LNG approvals were frozen, projects stalled, and allies were left scrambling. Under Trump, new export terminals came online, monthly production records fell, and America proved once again it can power the world responsibly.
This is what real leadership looks like. Affordable energy at home. Security abroad. And American workers winning.
At Power The Future, we’ll keep calling it what it is: energy dominance works, and Biden’s energy retreat didn’t.
