Alaska Poised to Lead America’s Energy Future

Alaska’s vast reserves of natural resources, from oil and gas to critical minerals, have long positioned it as a central player in America’s energy landscape. With momentum building for renewed development, the state is ready for an energy boom that could reshape the nation’s energy future and diminish reliance on foreign adversaries.

Speaking at the State Financial Officers Foundation conference in Orlando, Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum discussed the economic lifeblood that resource development represents for Alaska. “The vast majority of our state government funds come from mining and crude oil,” Crum told Fox News Digital. “It’s not just a source of revenue—it’s our way of life.”

Crum credited President Trump with setting the stage for this resurgence. He praised Trump’s policies that directly supported Alaskan interests, including prioritizing the Ambler Access Project, a 211-mile industrial road that opens access to copper, zinc, and other key minerals in the remote Brooks Range. The move, which reversed Biden-era restrictions, has opened doors for development in an area critical to U.S. mineral independence.

It is refreshing to have an administration that understands the potential of the 49th state. Alaska’s natural resources represent one of the most strategically important assets for the United States. These resources fuel domestic energy needs and strengthen national security. With a long-standing record of responsible development, Alaska offers a proven model for how resource-rich regions can power the country’s future. As the U.S. looks to secure its energy independence, Alaska stands ready to lead.
