Alaska: Unlocking America’s Energy Future

The Last Frontier state has more to offer than just breathtaking wilderness. Alaska is a resource giant with the power to secure America’s energy independence. Congressman Nick Begich is leading the charge to unleash Alaska’s vast energy potential.

“Alaska had about 70 executive orders and actions that specifically targeted our ability to develop mineral resources and energy resources in our state [under former President Joe Biden.] These are orders and actions that did not apply to other states. And others have said this — that’s more executive actions against the state of Alaska than sanctions against the nation of Iran,” Begich told the DCNF. “Alaska has a bigger role to play in our nation going forward. I believe we’re going to play that role. We’re going to play it an outsized way relative to the past, and we’ve got the perfect opportunity right now with a Republican House, Republican Senate, and a president that wants to make America great again to get those things done for our state, for our nation.”

Now, thanks to Begich’s leadership and President Trump’s commitment to energy dominance, Alaska is poised for a historic comeback. The recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act opens 30 million acres for oil and gas leasing. This move alone could unlock resources to fuel the nation for decades.

Beyond oil and gas, Alaska holds 49 of 50 critical minerals vital for modern technology and national security, offering a powerful counterweight to China’s mineral dominance.

With U.S. energy demand rising due to manufacturing growth, the retirement of power plants, and energy-hungry technologies like AI and data centers, Alaska’s reliable and abundant energy supply is exactly what America needs.
