California’s Annual Gas Tax Raise is Here

Today, Californians are waking up to more expensive gas prices, thanks to the infamous mandatory gas tax. The uptick this year makes the gas tax $0.61 on every gallon of gas pumped across the state.

KTVU reports,

“Drivers still don’t like it when you consider that overall gas taxes will cost the average household $612 a year. In addition to that, consumers may soon see another 13 to 17 cents per gallon increase in order to pay for an incentive that is given to fuel providers to lower the carbon content of their fuels.”

For California families already facing rising living costs, this extra burden at the pump is both frustrating and financially difficult to handle. Unlike temporary global oil fluctuation, this price hike isn’t caused by supply and demand — it’s government-mandated and guaranteed to rise again next year. Unfortunately, this is what California is known for: unrealistic and costly eco-left policies.

Let this be a warning to the rest of the country: keep California policies out of your state.
