Congress Moves to Repeal Biden’s Costly Natural Gas Tax

In a major win for American families, businesses, and energy security, both the House and Senate have voted to repeal Biden’s disastrous Natural Gas Tax: a regulation buried in the Inflation Reduction Act that artificially increased energy costs for millions of Americans that the Biden administration weaponized to impose a far-reaching tax on natural gas producers.

The House passed the measure 220-206, while the Senate followed with a 52-47 vote, a clear rejection of Biden’s failed energy policies.  Power The Future Executive Director and Founder Daniel Turner said in a statement:

“The repeal of Biden’s Natural Gas Tax is a major victory for American families, businesses, and energy dominance.”

This isn’t just a political win; it’s a win for real Americans who rely on natural gas every day:

  • More than 60% of U.S. households use natural gas for heating or cooking.
  • Prices had surged to their highest level in years, thanks to Biden’s war on energy production.
  • Repealing this tax means lower utility bills, more domestic energy production, and relief for working families.

Congress is sending a loud and clear message. No more Biden-era energy sabotage, no more ideologically driven price hikes, and finally America’s energy future will again be driven by production, not politics.

The fight for energy dominance and affordability isn’t over, but today, Congress took a pivotal step in the right direction and delivered exactly what Americans voted for: lower bills, higher production, and common-sense energy policy.
