Earth Day 2025: #OurPowerOurPlanet
Today is Earth Day, and for once, we agree on this year’s theme: #ourpowerourplanet, because the resources that Earth provides powers our planet.
From the ground beneath our feet to the skies above, our planet provides coal to generate electricity, oil to fly our planes and natural gas to cook our meals. These naturalresources, forged over millions of years, have powered our lives and built our modern world.
Some folks say that using the Earth’s resources is the problem. But we believe the real problem is wasting them. Leaving energy unused, letting opportunity go idle, turning our backs on the tools that built our communities, that’s not progress. That’s shortsighted.
Using natural resources wisely, responsibly, and efficiently—that’s how we honor the Earth. That’s how we ensure prosperity and sustainability can go hand in hand.
Today, we also thank the people who make that possible: the American energy workers.
You don’t always get the recognition you deserve, but the truth is, without you? The lights don’t turn on. The trucks don’t move. The country doesn’t run. From oil fields to refineries, from power plants to pipelines, you do the hard work that keeps America going—and we see you.
So, this Earth Day, we don’t apologize for powering the world.
We say thank you, and we keep going.
