Eco-Left Senators Out-Of-Touch Effort to End Energy Emergency
In December, PTF Founder Daniel Turner explained why President Trump should declare an energy emergency on day one. On day one, President Trump did just that. Declaring an energy emergency was the right move and now eco-left senators are trying to end President Trump’s energy emergency declaration.
Despite a recent report showing inflation is still a problem, Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) have introduced legislation to end President Trump’s energy emergency declaration. Their measure was introduced days after the latest report for December, showing inflation continuing to go up, driven in part by increasing energy prices.
“Apparently Tim Kaine and Martin Heinrich have the luxury of not having to buy their own gas or their own groceries because that’s the only reason they could be this aloof,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “The truth is they are simple partisans who didn’t think it was an emergency when Americans were paying record gas prices and Joe Biden was begging Saudi Arabia for more oil. Make no mistake: These two Senators were key votes for the failed Inflation Reduction Act so when it comes to knowing which laws will help working families, these two should sit it out.”
Over the last four years, American families have endured the following failures that Senators Kaine and Heinrich didn’t feel constituted an emergency:
- The highest gas prices in American history in June 2022.
- Draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve more than any other time in history.
- Inflation reaching a 40-year high.
- Joe Biden begging OPEC countries for more oil.
