Newsom Jets to Brazil to Lecture the World While Trump Puts America First

While Californians struggle under high energy and gas prices, Governor Gavin Newsom is halfway around the world at a luxury climate conference in Belem, Brazil. While in Brazil, Newsom is working on his 2028 presidential campaign by scolding America and praising China.

At this year’s U.N. COP30 climate talks, Newsom declared that President Trump’s decision not to attend was “doubling down on stupid,” claiming the United States is “ceding economic power” to other nations by refusing to bow to global climate mandates. He went even further, arguing that even Russia and Saudi Arabia are “going green” while Trump “turns his back on the world.”

But let’s be clear about what’s really happening in Brazil:

  • Bureaucrats and billionaire activists are sipping cocktails and congratulating each other after clearing part of the Amazon rainforest to host a climate summit.
  • They’re traveling on private jets to lecture working Americans about their “carbon footprints.”
  • And Gavin Newsom, who oversees one of the most energy-scarce and unaffordable states in America, is trying to position himself for a 2028 presidential run.

Meanwhile, President Trump made the sensible choice to skip the hypocrisy. No taxpayer-funded trips. No empty speeches. No seven-million-dollar bills for “climate diplomacy.” Instead, he’s prioritizing American Energy Dominance by increasing domestic production, reducing red tape, and keeping our tax dollars at home where they belong.

While Newsom and his eco-left friends chase green dreams abroad, President Trump is shaping a future based on energy, jobs, and national strength. That’s the type of leadership America needs.
