Power The Future Applauds House Judiciary Investigation of Climate Activist “Court Influence” Operation
Big news out of Washington: the House Judiciary Committee has officially opened an investigation into the Climate Judiciary Project (CJP), a shadowy program housed at the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) that was designed to influence nearly 2,000 federal and state judges on climate issues.
This investigation didn’t come out of nowhere. Just a few weeks ago, Power The Future sounded the alarm with a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, calling for an immediate investigation into this scheme. Now, the House Judiciary Committee has stepped up, and we’re proud to see our work paying off.
As PTF Founder and Executive Director Daniel Turner put it:
“Green activists know they can’t win at the ballot box, so they’re trying to tilt the courts in their favor. The fact we don’t get to know which judges took part in these programs makes us believe this is indoctrination and not education. The American people deserve judges who are impartial, not ones spoon-fed talking points from groups with an agenda.”
Through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Power The Future uncovered disturbing conversations between organizers of the program. They bragged about tailoring their materials to “counteract arguments from nonbelievers.” That isn’t education. That’s indoctrination.
And the eco-left was doing it in secret. Judges don’t disclose if they attended these sessions. The public is left in the dark while green activists quietly build influence over the very courts handling multi-billion-dollar lawsuits against America’s energy producers.
We’re not the only ones raising red flags. Attorneys general from 23 states have already called on EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to strip any funding from the program. Now, with Congress investigating, the eco-left’s lawfare machine is finally being forced into the light.
At Power The Future, we’ve said it again and again: the green agenda isn’t about science or fairness. It’s about power. When they can’t win elections, they try to hijack the courts. When they can’t convince the public, they try to rig the system behind closed doors.
We won’t let them.
This investigation is a major victory for transparency, accountability, and for the energy workers who keep America running. And we’re proud that PTF played a leading role in sparking it.
