PTF Applauds President Trump’s Actions to Withdraw from Anti-American Climate Agreements

The Trump administration announced this week that it will withdraw the United States from multiple international climate agreements that have long undermined American sovereignty and delivered little to no environmental benefit.

For years, these agreements imposed high costs on U.S. energy producers, workers, and families—while granting the world’s largest polluters, including China, a free pass. American companies were told to produce less, pay more, and accept limits set by foreign bureaucrats, even as China expanded its energy production and pollution with virtually no consequences.

Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future, summed it up clearly in response to the announcement:

“These agreements were never about the environment, but about surrendering American energy independence and empowering foreign bureaucrats at the expense of our energy workers. Under these agreements, the US was expected to pay more but produce less energy while China was given a free pass to pollute and profit. The price at the pump is proof that we didn’t need these agreements, all we needed was a new President.”

Power The Future has long warned that sacrificing American energy independence would only drive up prices and weaken national security. Today’s announcement is a clear step toward reversing that damage and putting America’s energy future back on track.
