Sanders’ Secret Shame: Private Jets
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is known for his climate activism and overall extreme left ideologies. But as is typical with the eco-left, they want you to do what they say, not what they do, because what Bernie Sanders does is spend over $200,000 on private jets flying around the country on his Fighting Oligarchy Tour.
The Washington Free Beacon reviewed campaign expenditures and found that Senator Sanders is spending a lot on luxury private travel.
“Campaign expenditures released Tuesday and reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon show Sanders’s main campaign committee, Friends of Bernie Sanders, spent $221,723 chartering private jets during the first quarter of 2025, with the first payment coming just days before the launch of his tour in February.”
According to Transport & Environment, a passenger on a private plane can emit 10 to 20 times more carbon pollution than a passenger on a commercial flight. While Bernie flies around on private planes fueled by fossil fuels, he actively works to destroy the industry. He was a co-sponsor of the infamous Green New Deal and often discusses replacing reliable fossil fuel energy with unreliable renewables like wind and solar. If Bernie is going to talk the talk about getting rid of fossil fuels, he better walk the walk and find a private jet that is fueled by sunshine.
