Senate Smacks Down Liberal Attempt to End Trump’s Energy Emergency Declaration

The U.S. Senate rejected a tone-deaf attempt by Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) to undo President Trump’s Energy Emergency Declaration—a move that would have kept Biden-era price hikes in place and left American families paying the price.

The vote failed 52-47, and rightfully so. As millions of Americans are still struggling with high energy costs thanks to Biden’s failed policies, many senators thought now was the right time to play political games. Power The Future Executive Director and Founder Daniel Turner said in a statement:

“This was nothing more than a cheap political stunt that prioritized ideology over affordability and it deserved the swift death it received.”

The facts don’t lie: prices are still too high, plagued by Biden’s lingering regulation, and grid reliability is in jeopardy. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation is warning of severe grid risks in the coming years thanks to Biden’s reckless green energy push.

Yet Kaine and Heinrich acted like this isn’t an emergency? These are the same Democrats who complain about inflation but vote to keep energy costs high. Bringing prices down starts with boosting energy production, something Trump is delivering on, while Democrats keep trying to kill it.

The Senate made the right call today. Energy security isn’t a political stunt, it’s a necessity.
