Senator Ted Cruz: Energy Champion of the Month
Power The Future is proud to name Senator Ted Cruz our Energy Champion of the Month.
Senator Cruz is leading the Senate effort to stop the growing campaign of climate lawfare against American energy workers and producers. Alongside Senators Tom Cotton, Ted Budd and Mike Lee, Cruz introduced the Stop Climate Shakedowns Act, the Senate companion to legislation led by Representative Harriet Hageman.
The bill would block activists and hostile state governments from using dubious climate lawsuits and retroactive “energy penalty” laws to punish companies for producing the affordable and reliable energy Americans depend on.
As Senator Cruz explained, climate activists are using “meritless lawsuits to bankrupt our energy industry, kill good paying jobs, and drive up the cost of electricity and gasoline.”
That is exactly what these lawsuits are designed to accomplish. Unable to enact their radical agenda through Congress, eco-left organizations and politicians are attempting to impose it through sympathetic court: threatening jobs, raising costs and attacking lawful American energy production.
Senator Cruz understands that energy dominance cannot coexist with endless politically motivated litigation. By sponsoring the Senate version of the Stop Climate Shakedowns Act, he is standing up for American workers, consumers and the rule of law.
For taking on climate lawfare and defending the industry that powers America, Senator Ted Cruz is Power The Future’s Energy Champion of the Month.
