Fresh off supporting a government shutdown that affected working Americans, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) took a flight to Brazil for the COP30 climate conference. Which is really a cover for an exclusive political getaway full of luxury and “delicious empanadas.” According to his office, the Senator’s trip was “with the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Institute,” with no disclosure of who funded his travel. While in Brazil, Whitehouse spent his time praising communist China.
