HYPOCRISY: New Mexico Governor Doesn’t Obey Her Own “Green New Deal”

December 15, 2020

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham wants every New Mexican to live under a renewable energy mandate…as long as she doesn’t have to do it herself. You might recall in April 2019, Governor Lujan Grisham signed the Energy Transition Act, also called the “mini” Green New Deal. The Governor and her radical environmental supporters can’t go more than a few moments without heaping praise on the law. In fact, Senator Martin Heinrich cited the law in his awkward response to voting “Present” on the real Green New Deal. If you take a look at the law, the first key renewable standard requires…

New Mexico Attorney General Sued for Stonewalling on Documents Related to Bloomberg Group

December 10, 2020

New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas doesn’t want us to know what kind of work he’s doing with environmental activists and other eco-left AG’s on behalf of a Michael Bloomberg funded group. In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, Energy Policy Advocates (EPA) argues Balderas has spent the last six months withholding documents related to their work with Bloomberg’s group. You might recall in 2019, the New Mexico AG’s office was one of many that was found to have lawyers, who are paid by Bloomberg through a non-profit, on staff. The arrangement was found to be so ethically problematic that Virginia…

New Mexico Governor: “I’d Love to Tell You” that San Juan Generating Station is Closed

December 8, 2020

Sometimes, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham gets caught actually telling the truth, and the results are despicable. During the Governor’s lovefest with the U.S. Climate Alliance in September, she was asked about her position on electric-generating coal plants. Feeling she was among friends; the Governor dropped this response about the San Juan Generating Station (SJGS) near Farmington: “I’d love to tell you that the plant is closed. So, that antiquated generating plant, generating station in our Four Corners area is about a year out.” You can hear the Governor’s comments here. The closure of SJGS is expected to kill…

New Mexico Governor’s Two-Faced Promise Is Quietly Broken

December 2, 2020

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is a typical eco-left hypocrite. For example, she’ll sign executive orders mandating vehicle milage standards while being shuttled around in a large SUV. However, nowhere is her hypocrisy more on display than when she advocates for killing energy jobs while still wildly spending the revenue that comes from the industry. It was just over a year ago when Governor Lujan Grisham ran to the New York Times to tell them New Mexico would be the first state to offer free college to all students. How was she going to pay for it? Revenue generated…

New Mexico AG’s Office Part of Eco-left Effort to “Avoid Democracy”

November 30, 2020

The Wall Street Journal released an exclusive story outlining how Democrat Attorney General offices, including the one in New Mexico, collaborated to sue the federal government into imposing eco-left restrictions. According to the article: In the summer of 2019, documents obtained from New Mexico show, 21 states and D.C. signed a “common interest agreement” allowing them to share information and plan confidentially on climate litigation.  The effort sounds similar to the one undertaken by failed presidential candidate and billionaire Michael Bloomberg. You might recall Bloomberg paid the salaries of public officials in AG offices across the country in order to…

Study: Federal Leasing Ban Would Cost 5% of All Jobs in New Mexico

November 25, 2020

If a potential Biden Administration gets their way, nearly 5 percent of all jobs would be lost in New Mexico. The job losses would come as a result of a federal ban prohibiting natural gas leasing on public lands. A study released by the American Petroleum Institute found such a ban would kill over 62,000 jobs in New Mexico. And according to a former Deputy Secretary for Energy, since 2/3 of New Mexico’s natural gas production takes place on federal land, such a move would cost the state billions in lost revenue. New Mexico deserved better than radical eco-policies that…

New Mexico Loses More Energy Jobs, Ranks 43rd for Employment

November 20, 2020

The green agenda has terrible consequences and New Mexicans are paying the price. According to data released today from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, New Mexico has the 43rd HIGHEST unemployment in the nation. The newest report also reveals the sector that includes energy workers in New Mexico has the fewest jobs since August of 2010. Not surprisingly, August of 2010 is the last time radical environmentalists had an ally in the Governor’s office. Radical environmentalists and their political allies in Santa Fe would have you believe the pandemic is the sole reason for the economic hard times. As…

Lujan Grisham Administration Prioritizes Buying Electric Vehicles Over Protecting Senior Citizens

November 18, 2020

As New Mexico gets ready to tackle the next state budget, the priorities of the Governor’s administration are clear: More money to buy electric vehicles, less money to protect senior citizens. The New Mexico state budget depends on revenue from the state’s oil and gas workers to deliver billions. During a worldwide pandemic and amid regulatory attacks from radical environmentalists New Mexico’s leaders are worried about how it will make ends meet next year if the industry doesn’t produce as it did in the past. That’s the background as state government agencies present their budgets for the next year to…

Eco-Left New Mexicans Make Biden’s List for Key Role

November 12, 2020

New Mexico currently has the 8th highest unemployment rate in the nation, went from a massive budget surplus to a deficit in less than 18 months and currently has the fewest energy jobs in a decade. Apparently, that is the kind of “success” Joe Biden wants to take nationwide. The New York Times is out with their list of candidates they believe Biden is considering as he takes on transition despite ongoing legal challenges. According to the report, the front-runners for the critical role of Secretary of the Interior are nearly all eco-left New Mexican politicians. Rep. Deb Haaland –…
