Thanks to American Energy—Thanksgiving Costs Are Down

This Thanksgiving, families across the country are getting some much-needed good news: the cost of a traditional holiday dinner has dropped 5 percent from last year, according to a new report from the American Farm Bureau Federation. After several years of rising prices, Americans are finally seeing relief. And it’s no coincidence that this drop comes as U.S. energy prices are falling.

From 2021 to 2024, the average gasoline price in November was $3.47 per gallon. Compare that to an average of just $2.68 per gallon during each November under President Trump. With the Trump Administration now restoring commonsense energy policies, prices are moving in the right direction again — and families are feeling the difference.

“More affordable life starts with more abundant energy, and thanks to the policies of the Trump Administration, Americans are starting to see meaningful results on both fronts,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. “Lower energy costs ripple through the economy and are showing up not only on the roads, but also on the table this Thanksgiving. This year we have many reasons to be grateful, and President Trump ending the Green New Deal detour is high atop that list.”

According to the Energy Information Administration, U.S. oil production has now hit a record-breaking 13.79 million barrels per day, demonstrating what happens when policymakers stop hampering American producers and allow our energy workers to do what they do best.

This Thanksgiving, families aren’t just giving thanks for turkey, stuffing, and time with loved ones. They’re also grateful for a more affordable life made possible by American energy.
