The EPA’s Course Correction: Rolling Back Overregulation and Restoring Common Sense
For years, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been weaponized by unelected bureaucrats to impose crushing regulations, drive up energy costs, and suffocate American industries under the guise of “climate action.” But those days are over. Under the leadership of Administrator Lee Zeldin and with the full backing of President Trump, the EPA is finally fulfilling its true mission: protecting the environment while unleashing American energy, cutting bureaucratic waste, and rolling back the disastrous overregulation that defined the Biden era.
A Historic Day of Deregulation
In what is being hailed as the most consequential day of deregulation in U.S. history, Administrator Zeldin yesterday announced 31 historic actions to advance President Trump’s agenda of economic revival and energy independence. These actions will:
- Unleash American energy by rolling back job-killing regulations on oil, gas, and coal.
- Lower the cost of living by eliminating hidden “taxes” in the form of excessive regulatory burdens.
- Restore the rule of law by ensuring EPA follows the Constitution rather than activist-driven agendas.
- Empower the states by ending federal overreach and returning decision-making power to local governments.
As Administrator Zeldin put it:
“Today is the greatest day of deregulation our nation has seen. We are driving a dagger straight into the heart of the climate change religion to drive down the cost of living for American families, unleash American energy, bring auto jobs back to the U.S., and more.”
Ending the Biden-Era Grift and Overreach
The previous administration used the EPA as a slush fund for radical activists, rewarding political allies while strangling American industry. The Biden-Harris administration’s so-called “climate” initiatives were never about the environment—they were about control. Their Clean Power Plan 2.0, Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, and Social Cost of Carbon regulations were designed to make energy unaffordable and force reliance on foreign sources.
Now, the Trump EPA is putting an end to the madness:
- Ending the Clean Power Plan 2.0 – a scheme designed to shut down power plants and drive up electricity costs.
- Rolling back the Social Cost of Carbon – an arbitrary number used to justify crippling regulations on businesses.
- Reconsidering burdensome emissions rules that punished U.S. manufacturing while China and other polluters got a free pass.
The message is clear: No more bureaucratic power grabs. No more climate cult-driven policy. No more punishing American families.
Energy Dominance is Back
President Trump’s vision for American energy is one of abundance, affordability, and strength. Instead of forcing an unreliable, government-mandated “green transition,” the Trump administration is ensuring the U.S. remains the world’s leading energy superpower.
And, despite the left’s fearmongering, rolling back bad regulations does not mean abandoning environmental protection. The Trump EPA is committed to environmental stewardship without political activism.
- Supporting wildfire prevention efforts, including controlled burns that radical environmentalists opposed.
- Allowing states to take the lead on their own environmental policies instead of Washington bureaucrats dictating rules.
- Cutting unnecessary paperwork and delays that hold up genuine conservation and pollution control efforts.
America First, Not Bureaucracy First
For too long, Americans suffered under an EPA that thought it knew best by dictating how we live, what energy we use, and how much we pay for it. That era is over. Under Administrator Zeldin and President Trump, the EPA is being returned to the American people, where it belongs.
