Too Much of a Coincidence? After Biden’s Record Green Spending, Haaland Campaign Receives Record Cash

Former Biden Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is making headlines for her record-breaking fundraising in the race for New Mexico governor. With over $2 million in campaign funds, Haaland’s war chest is growing rapidly—but so are questions about where the money is coming from.

Haaland’s financial windfall comes on the heels of the Biden administration’s massive $370 billion spending spree on so-called green investments. While these funds were meant to support clean energy and environmental initiatives, billions have since been flagged as controversial, with some now being pulled back. The connection between federal dollars and campaign contributions is raising eyebrows, yet Haaland’s campaign has not provided details about her donors.

“With so much apparent fraud and billions rushed out the door to green groups after the election, it is incumbent upon Deb Haaland to be transparent, and expose any potential conflict of interest or any donations that could make the voters question her ethics,“ said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. “Her campaign is not forthcoming about whether or not most of her donations are coming from outside New Mexico, or if they came from anyone who received taxpayer support through her former department. These are simple questions and New Mexicans deserve swift answers.”
