Trump Administration Rolls Back Costly Biden-Era Methane Rule

President Donald Trump is delivering another win for American energy producers and working families by eliminating a costly Biden-era methane regulation targeting oil and natural gas production.

The decision is projected to save American families $45 billion, unlock additional natural gas production, and help produce an additional 210 million barrels of oil. By rolling back burdensome regulations, the Trump administration is taking another step toward strengthening American energy independence and lowering consumer costs.

“The Obama-Biden era of weaponizing the EPA is over,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. “President Trump’s decision saves American families billions that they were being forced to spend on a green agenda that made everyday life more expensive and less affordable. If climate activists truly support these draconian rules that have been rightfully cast aside, they should pass them through Congress, but they never will because they lack the public support to do so.”

The rollback is another example of the Trump administration prioritizing affordable, reliable American energy over costly regulations.
