What a Difference a President Makes: Energy Dominance Is Back
In his State of the Union address, President Trump laid out what Americans can see and feel after just one year of leadership. America’s energy dominance is back, and it didn’t require a miracle technology or a Green New Deal. It required leadership.
During his address, President Trump put it plainly:
“What a difference a president makes. A short time ago, we were a dead country. Now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world… American oil production is up by more than 600,000 barrels a day. American natural gas production is at an all-time high. Because I kept my promise to drill, baby, drill.”
The payoff is clear. Lower energy costs translate into lower grocery bills, lower transportation costs, and more take-home pay for working families. Increased production strengthens national security by reducing dependence on foreign adversaries. Expanded exports allow America to support allies with reliable energy rather than empower bad actors.
For years, Power The Future has warned that energy policy is economic and national security policy. The past year has proven us right. America didn’t run out of energy. We ran out of leadership.
