Energy Hero: America’s 18 Million Fossil Energy Workers

On the final day of 2022, we have our final energy hero of 2022. At Power The Future, they’re our heroes today and every day. It’s America’s fossil fuel energy workers. These men and women worked on Christmas, they’ll work tonight on New Year’s Eve, and they worked every other holiday in 2022. They’ll do the same in 2023 to ensure you have reliable and affordable power. Their work is the reason your house is warm and the reason the lights are on at your business. Too many Americans don’t think about where their electricity, heat, and fuel comes from, but…

Energy Zero: President Joe Biden

Our final Energy Zero is the worst of all. It’s President Joe Biden. For two years, he and his administration have done everything in their power to crush American energy production, hurt energy consumers, and force energy workers out of good paying jobs. From his first day in the White House, to the last day of 2022, President Biden has waged a war on American energy through establishing regulatory roadblocks, blocking permits for pipeline projects, issuing the least federal energy leases since World War II, nominating anti-fossil energy nominees like Deb Haaland, Jennifer Granholm, and Richard Glick to critical positions, and cancelling major projects like the Keystone…

Energy Hero: Rational Online Energy Voices

Today’s Power The Future Energy Heroes are those who stood up for America’s energy workers online. In a world where free speech on social media platforms is constantly under attack, these voices stood up and fought back against the progressive activists who are constantly shouting on Twitter.  These voices are critical to pushing back against the billionaires who fund faux grassroots with their hundreds of millions in contributions. They spoke truth about the green energy industry, and they promoted fossil power and American energy independence. They stood strong against this tidal wave of failed ideas. These heroes include:  B.F. Randall Steve…

Energy Zero: Prince and Princess of Wales

Our next energy zeros reached new heights of popularity this year, but their climate efforts fell flat. It’s Prince William and Princess Kate. In November, the couple were the center piece of a climate award gala in Boston. The event had much pomp and circumstance, and they plan to give out awards for climate innovation and renewable energy soon. The problem? The policies they’re promoting have resulted in rampant child labor in Africa and empowered China. The renewable energy sources the prince and princess are pushing rely on critical minerals like cobalt. That largely comes from mines in places like the Democratic…

Energy Hero: Alex Epstein

Our next hero is one who needs little introduction because he has been writing about the need for fossil fuel energy for years. Alex Epstein is a Power The Future energy hero in 2022 because of his new book titled, Fossil Future: Why Global Human Flourishing Requires More Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas–Not Less.  As John Tamney writes in his review of Epstein’s new book for Forbes, “As Epstein puts it, ‘the more power we have at our disposal, the more food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education, and anything else we can produce with our limited time.’ Amen. Oil and its byproducts have very thankfully mechanized so much…

Energy Zero: Climate Activist Art Vandals

It’s hard to miss our next group of energy zeros because they have been making a mess all over museums across the globe. It’s climate art vandals! This group of extreme activists are trying to destroy famous pieces of art by throwing food and paint on them. They most famously threw cake at the Mona Lisa, but their art attacks go well beyond that. Fox News reported, “Radical climate change protesters worldwide are increasingly using priceless works of art and art galleries as political fodder in their activism. On Sunday, two activists from the group Letzte Generation (Last Generation) threw mashed potatoes at a $110 million Monet painting in a Potsdam…

Energy Hero: West Virginia Coal Miners Who Rescued Stranded Electric Vehicle

We always think of coal miners as energy heroes, but five miners from West Virginia deserve an extra shout-out this year. This fall, a couple was traveling from Washington D.C. down to WV in an electric vehicle, when they ran out of power on a haul road for Mettiki Coal. Since the car could not be towed, five miners took it upon themselves to push the vehicle to a charging station at the coal mine. Creating some of the best photos from 2022, an electric car plugged into a coal mine. West Virginia State Sen. Randy Smith discussed the incident with Fox News.   “So here are 5 coal miners pushing a battery car to the coal mine to charge…

Energy Zero: Liz Truss

The next Energy Zero for 2022 goes to the shortest-serving prime minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss. Europe is facing an energy crisis due to Russia’s war in Ukraine and governments forcing a green transition. When Liz Truss first took office, she had big goals to fight the rising cost of energy bills and even lifted the country’s ban on fracking. Unfortunately, Truss resigned after just six weeks as Prime Minister. Leaving the door open for current PM Rishi Sunak to swoop in and continue the country down the path of unreliable green energy. PM Sunak swiftly reinstated the UK’s fracking ban. For quitting only six weeks into…

Energy Hero: Australian Coal Baron Gina Reinhart

We find our next 2022 energy hero overseas, and specifically, down under! Gina Reinhart is the head of the Australian mining company Hancock Prospecting and a major supporter of women’s sports in the country. This year, she made a $15 million donation to Netball Australia to support the growth of that sport. However, woke players in the sport refused to wear her company’s logo on their shirts because of its association with fossil fuels. That decision cost them… $15 million. Daily Mail reported, “Ms. Rinehart’s mining company Hancock Prospecting issued a scathing response as it withdrew its $15 million sponsorship offer. ‘Hancock and its executive…

Energy Zero: John Kerry & Gina McCarthy

On the third day of reviewing energy in 2022, my true love gave to me: two of the worst energy zeros of the bunch, John Kerry and Gina McCarthy. These unelected and unconstitutional “climate czars” in the Biden White House did tremendous damage to America’s energy workers this year – and worst of all, they are accountable to no one. Both refused to give the public or Congress answers as to what authority they have and where funding for their staffs is coming from.  The Boston Herald wrote, “John Kerry is being called out for his display of ‘cowardice’ for ducking questions about his blatant lack of…
