New Election Year, Same Hypocrisy

For years, Democrats have berated conservatives for their lack of urgency on policies involving climate change and the environment. However, as the election cycle progresses, one of the inherent hypocrisies of the eco-left has resurfaced. On the campaign trail, candidates like Bernie Sanders travel from city to city on private jets, while simultaneously emphasizing the dire need to cut carbon emissions across the country.  As the Boston Herald reports: If climate change is truly a life-and-death proposition as the left says, so much so that Sanders and others are willing to sacrifice 177,000 American jobs the USMCA is estimated to…

The Left’s Lobbying

This past year, environmental groups drastically intensified their lobbying efforts – steeply increasing the amount of money dedicated to pushing like-minded policies and candidates. OpenSecrets reports that Sierra Club, one of the nation’s largest environmental groups, brought in a record-breaking $143.7 million last year, including $71.9 million from a single, unnamed donor.  These efforts are in response to President Trump removing unnecessary regulations to allow a booming industry to continue growing. But, the eco-left’s undisclosed donations aren’t met with any criticism. League of Conservation Voters, a national environmental “dark money” group with an allied super PAC and affiliated nonprofit arms…

Hypocrisy: Gwich’in Say the Arctic Plain is “Sacred”…Until it Isn’t

Two of the most significant oil and gas opportunities yet to be developed in the US are found on the North Slope of Alaska.  The National Petroleum Reserve (NPR-A) sits to the west of the existing legacy fields of Prudhoe Bay and Kuparuk.  Its annual lease sale was completed this week and was much more successful for bids and revenues than years past.    The second opportunity is the Coastal Plain (also known as the 1002 section) of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).  It is projected to hold 10 billion barrels of oil or more, would lead to tens…

New Mexico Bureaucrats Fight Climate Change by Spending Thousands on Lake Tahoe Retreat

Nothing says “Fighting Climate Change” like spending thousands of taxpayer dollars on a retreat to Lake Tahoe. Yet, that’s exactly what two people from the New Mexico Department of Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources did. We first told you about the hypocrisy of the trip last October when we found out the US Climate Alliance thinks killing energy jobs should be called a “just transition.” Now, we’ve received the receipts for the trip and know the two employees spent more than $2700 in taxpayer dollars taking fossil-fueled flights and staying in resort hotels all to discuss their “just transition” around…

San Juan Citizens Alliance Forgets to Check Their Privilege

If this is the “rigorous” fact-checking we can expect from San Juan Citizens Alliance, then it’s easy to understand why they blindly support their radical, job-killing positions. San Juan Citizens Alliance seems to be really upset about “out-of-state” groups working against them in New Mexico. Someone should’ve told them to check their privilege, and perhaps a mirror first. This is the hypocrisy that is all too common on the eco-left. Besides the fact they are an out-of-state organization, the San Juan Citizens Alliance takes in 97 percent of their money from outside of New Mexico and Colorado. In fact, the…

Arnold Meets With Greta, Runs Errands In Tank

Former California Governor and Last Action Hero star Arnold Schwarzenegger was seen driving a tank to run errands. According to Page Six: “Arnold Schwarzenegger made running errands look like a military mission when he drove to the Brentwood Country Mart in a tank-like SUV. The 72-year-old ‘Terminator’ star was spotted having a bit of trouble getting back into his Pinzgauer all-terrain vehicle, though eventually got back in before heading back home. Pinzgauers start at $18,000 and can cost up to $70,000 depending on the model.” Schwarzenegger has been vocal about climate change and recently met with Greta Thunberg. According to…

The celebrities featured in the video include Ellie Goulding and Jim Carter. According to Reuters: “Singer Ellie Goulding, actor Imelda Staunton and model Daisy Lowe were among celebrities demanding that the governments act on climate change in a video campaign launched by Extinction Rebellion on Sunday ahead of Britain’s Dec. 12 general election. … Among the best-known actors to feature in the film is Jim Carter. “Climate Hawk” Senator Has A Hypocrisy Problem

Sen. Brian Schatz, a Democrat from Hawaii, describes himself as a “climate hawk” and chairs the Senate Democrats’ Special Committee on the Climate Crisis. Meanwhile, Schatz’s chief of staff, Eric Einhorn, is heavily invested, up to $445,000, in oil and gas companies through his spouse. Roll Call reports: “The Hawaii Democrat’s chief of staff, Eric Einhorn, lists stock owned by his spouse valued between $168,000 and $445,000 in his financial disclosure across four oil and gas companies: ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Phillips 66 and Enterprise Products Partners LP. All of the securities are owned by Einhorn’s spouse and listed under the assets component of…

New Mexico Officials Travel to Lake Tahoe Retreat to Discuss Killing Energy Jobs

If you’re looking for a great example of the hypocrisy and arrogance of the radical green movement in New Mexico and across the country, you’ve come to the right place. It all starts with a conference put on by the U.S. Climate Alliance last month. This exclusive conference was held in Lake Tahoe and only government officials from participating states, including New Mexico, were invited. Of course, we are asked to ignore the hypocrisy of the amount fossil fuels needed to deliver dozens of bureaucrats to Nevada so they can discuss killing jobs in the energy sector. Emails obtained by…

Elites Push for Net Zero Carbon Footprint While Some Account for More Than A Thousand Times the Average Person

A new study by Swedish researchers from Lund University found that some wealthy people and celebrities are responsible for a thousand times more CO2 emissions than the average person. Researchers reviewed the social media accounts of well-known celebrities and wealthy philanthropists, and estimated the CO2 emissions by calculating the starting point and destination for flights. Summit News reports: Climate activist Bill Gates was responsible for approximately 1,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide, while flights used by Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez emitted 1,260 tonnes and 1,050 tonnes respectively. These figures compare to a global average of 100 kilos per person per year…
