Biden Forced to Rely on New Mexico’s Eco-Left Legislators for Support

June 9, 2021

If President Biden was looking for massive bipartisan support for his energy policy in New Mexico, he’s going to be disappointed. A group of 24 eco-left legislators, out of 112 legislators total, penned a letter to Biden and Interior Secretary Deb Haaland this week announcing their support for Biden’s “pause and review of federal fossil fuel programs.” No doubt these radical lawmakers are straining hard to show their support for Biden instead of their own constituents but what is noteworthy about the letter is who didn’t sign it. Of the 10 lawmakers who make up the majority and minority party…

Albuquerque’s Push Poll Pushes New Gas Tax

June 7, 2021

The City of Albuquerque wants your input on the proposed new gas tax…sort of. Despite the fact Mayor Tim Keller has vetoed the bill to raise the gas tax by 2 cents per gallon, the city is still putting forth a survey asking residents for their opinion. However, you might notice something odd about the two questions: The tone of the questions is clear: The city doesn’t want to know if you want a new gas tax, they want to know when you want a new gas tax. This is what passes for “listening to the people” for the eco-left.

An Inconvenient Truth About Governor Lujan Grisham’s Reelection Announcement

June 4, 2021

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s reelection announcement brought out more than dozens of protestors: it also highlighted the failure of her green agenda. During her announcement on Thursday, Lujan Grisham said she is running on her record for reelection, including committing New Mexico to a “carbon-free energy system.” There’s only one problem, her own green agenda was failing at that very moment. During her remarks, the utility that provides power to the site of her event reported only 6% of its power was coming from renewable resources. The Governor often celebrates her mini–Green New Deal, but she ignores the…

Albuquerque Plastic Bag Ban Part 2: Return of the Eco-empire

June 3, 2021

In late 2019, the city of Albuquerque passed a ban on plastic bags that began on Jan 1, 2020. However, when the pandemic hit just a few months later, the eco-left mayor joined many others cities in suspending the ban. When Keller first announced the suspension, this line was included in his press release: “Mayor Keller was clear this was not a public health measure, as there is no independent data supporting the myth that reusable bags contribute to the spread of coronavirus. Instead, it is a measure of solidarity and support for local businesses and food workers in a time of…

Out of Touch: Albuquerque City Council Votes to Raise Gas Tax on Families

May 28, 2021

Apparently, the skyrocketing gas prices across the country aren’t enough for the eco-left members of the Albuquerque city council. In a 5-4 vote, the council is putting a question to the voters about adding 2 cents per gallon tax on gas. Keep in mind, the unemployment rate in New Mexico is among the highest in the nation. At the same time, gas prices in New Mexico have skyrocketed from $1.85 per gallon this time last year to $2.95 per gallon this week. Apparently, the Albuquerque city council feels that with gas prices going up over 10 cents during the last…

New Mexico’s Largest Utility Asking for More Power After Abandoning Energy Workers

May 25, 2021

The Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) is looking for proposals for an additional 700mw of electricity because they are now worried their renewable plans won’t be enough to avoid blackouts. According to a story in Albuquerque Journal, PNM needs more power generated because one of their renewable projects is behind schedule and won’t be ready on time. Additionally, the utility is behind the forced transition that will close the San Juan Generating Station, destroying at least 1500 jobs and taking 940mw of power offline. To be clear, eco-leftists are celebrating the closure of the generating station while the…

Senator Martin Heinrich Celebrates Eco-Left Wish List Because He Can’t Pass a Law

May 21, 2021

New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich wants you to know he’s very proud of his latest effort to appease the eco-left.  You should be impressed that Senator Heinrich’s leadership skills have delivered a proposed resolution that is supported by a whopping 14 percent of the US Senate. If this picture, included in his press release email, doesn’t show the massive support for his efforts, we don’t know what does. We actually took the time to read Heinrich’s bloated wish-list to save you the time and what we found was a radical green wish list that would never pass Congress. Just like…

University of New Mexico Professors Want to Divest from Fossil Fuels but Keep The Money

May 19, 2021

Professors at the University of New Mexico are displaying next-level hypocrisy that makes our higher education system famous. According to the Albuquerque Journal, the UNM faculty Senate wants the school’s foundation to combat climate change by divesting from any companies involved in fossil fuels. And just in case you think they’re not serious, the faculty leader in charge of the effort says: “Sometimes there’s a propensity to dismiss these types of resolutions as mere activism or political posturing…across the nation there have been successful efforts at divestment, but there has to be the stomach for it.” At this point, it’s…

New Mexico Senator Wants Taxpayers to Foot the Bill for Destroying Energy Jobs

May 14, 2021

Senator Martin Heinrich finally admits wind and solar won’t be able to power New Mexico’s economy, so he wants the American taxpayers to shell out the dough. No doubt, that’s not how Heinrich is presenting his latest idea, but that’s exactly how it works. Heinrich unveiled his “Schools and State Budgets Certainty Act” this week and in doing so proved that renewable standards destroy jobs and take away billions in revenue for his state. What Heinrich wants to do is to force taxpayers to send money to states like New Mexico to help fund budgets and schools who are losing…
