New Mexico Eco-Bureaucrat Tweets “Show Me The Money” and Then Gets A Raise

May 10, 2021

The arrogance of the eco-left is always stunning, but the leader of the New Mexico Environment Department is taking it to a new level. You might remember just a few short months ago when we told you about Environment Secretary James Kenney lobbying New Mexico legislators for more taxpayer money by telling them to “show me the money.” Since then, not only has Kenney handed out massive raises to his fellow bureaucrats, it appears he saved some of that “green” for himself. The Albuquerque Journal reports: “The temporary boost changes Kenney’s annual salary to $168,480, up from $156,000 – the…

New Mexico Governor Recycles Tired Promise

April 29, 2021

You have to give her credit; New Mexico’s eco-left Governor is such a strong supporter of the Green Agenda that she recycles old promises. Sadly, for New Mexico’s families, the reality never matches the rhetoric. To illustrate our point, let’s take a look at two different quotes about green jobs in New Mexico: “New Mexico is now in a position to lead in renewable energy across the nation.” “That is because New Mexico is hungry for clean energy and the good jobs that come with this new industry.” The first quote is from current New Mexico Governor, and ally of…

What New Mexico’s Governor Didn’t Tell You in Her Climate Tirade

April 23, 2021

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham was very proud to be a part of Joe Biden’s Climate Summit, but it’s clear she’s not proud of the whole story. There are some key facts the Governor isn’t telling the public about her climate agenda: Her Energy Transition Act is hurting jobs and causing electric rates to go up on New Mexico’s working families. New Mexico currently has nearly the worst unemployment in the nation while not a single major utility met the first and lowest standard of the Energy Transition Act. Finally, while the Governor lectures the world about the need…

Even in Off Year Big Green Pours Money into New Mexico Governor’s Campaign

April 21, 2021

Lately, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has made headlines for how she’s spending her campaign donations, but a newly filed report shows Big Green is still a big supporter. The Governor’s most recent campaign disclosure reveals renewable energy companies were among her biggest supporters over the last six months. Pattern Energy, headquartered in San Francisco, sent Lujan Grisham $10,000 last October. This is the same Pattern Energy that is doing a lot of business in New Mexico. The disclosure also shows a $2,500 donation from a Los Angeles-based solar company. Keep in mind, the Governor signed solar-friendly legislation after…

New Mexico Environmental Group Creates Fake Award to Gain Attention and Then Celebrates Their Lie

April 15, 2021

When radical environmentalists completely make things up they call it a “creative hook,” but the rest of us know it’s an outright lie. According to a (now retracted) story, the radical environmental group Youth United for Climate Crisis Action completely made up an entire oil and gas association as well as a fake award. Their plan was to then protest the fictitious group giving out the fake award all in an effort to get media attention for a protest. Every environmental group in New Mexico should be condemning such deception, but it appears some agree with these dishonest tactics. To…

Report: Renewable Company Looking to Merge with New Mexico’s Largest Utility Dodged Rules on Wind Farms

April 13, 2021

Avangrid, a massive green corporation looking to take over New Mexico’s largest public utility skirted the rules when building two wind farms in the state. According to a report from New Mexico’s Public Regulation Commission (PRC) the company, which is a subsidiary of a corporation based in Spain, is raising concerns with their actions. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports: (PRC Staffer) Reynolds said early this month of the El Cabo project that Avangrid Renewables failed to gain approval from the commission for “location control” and right-of-way width. Also on El Cabo, Reynolds wrote, it appears Avangrid Renewables “deliberately skirted…

The Strange Death of New Mexico’s Clean Fuel Standard Act

April 7, 2021

Don’t get us wrong, we’re thrilled when a terrible bill doesn’t become a law. And Senate Bill 11, the Clean Fuel Standard Act is a terrible bill. During New Mexico’s recently completed legislative session, it seems as if every eco-left bill was gladly given a rubber stamp and sent to the Governor. Supposedly on that list was the Clean Fuel Standard Act especially as Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham made the bill a priority. The bill shot through the Senate and every assigned committee in the House landing on the House floor with days to spare before the deadline to end…

Less Than a Month on the Job, More Turmoil at Deb Haaland’s Interior Department

April 5, 2021

Well, that didn’t take long. Deb Haaland’s hand-picked Chief of Staff is being removed less than three weeks after her boss was confirmed. Last week, news broke that Haaland’s Interior Department was forced to call off a 50 person party after the White House found out. Apparently, the out-of-touch event struck a chord because now Jennifer Van der Heide is being removed from her position in part because of the party, but also over other issues. From the Politico story: “One Biden administration official said that “the party was the thing that broke the camel’s back” and was the “latest…

Deb Haaland’s First Act as Interior Secretary? Party!

March 29, 2021

While thousands of American energy workers are out of a job, including many in her home state, Deb Haaland’s first priority is to throw a party celebrating…Deb Haaland. According to a story in Politico, staffers at the Interior Department were planning a party shortly after Haaland’s confirmation. However, the 50-person gathering never happened as the White House shut it down over Covid concerns. The fact that Haalan’s own state ranks among the worst for unemployment with energy jobs at their lowest in years apparently was not a concern for party planners. No word on who was on the invite list,…

While Unemployment and Gas Prices Skyrocket, New Mexico’s Eco-Left Pushes for More

March 19, 2021

New Mexico’s working families are struggling, and the state’s radical environmentalists are fighting to make it worse. Just this week, newly released unemployment numbers show New Mexico ranks #48 in the nation for jobs. In fact, if you look at the worst states for unemployment, you’ll notice New Mexico is joined by fellow eco-left supporters New York and California. As working families struggle to make ends meet, many are pointing out Joe Biden’s actions are directly tied to increasing gas prices all over the country. In fact, the cost of gas in New Mexico is up nearly 36 percent over…
